Hi Alexx. Yes, the Airport Express is still running. Plus – the city suspended all transit fares as a direct response to COVID-19. Stay safe!

Hello I am staying at the Gale South beach hotel, which stop would I get off at. Do I have to purchase my ticket in advance for the shuttle?

        • lincolnroad says:

          Hi Simone,

You’re in luck – the Airport Express makes a stop at the Gale. Hop off at Collins Avenue & 17th Street. You can purchase your ticket onboard or via EASY Card vending machines at the Miami Central Station.

          Bonjour,

            Bon voyage !

How much would a shuttle be from Miami airport to AC hotel Miami Beach?

      • lincolnroad says:

        Hi Kim,

A private shuttle from MIA to The AC Hotel (29th & Collins Ave.) should run between $25 and $30. The Miami Beach Airport Shuttle is currently free to ride (due to Covid-19) and makes a stop at 29th and Indian Creek – which is just a 5 minute walk to your hotel.

Can you purchase a round trip ticket for return to the Miami airport on the airport express bus, if so does it pick up at same stops as you were dropped off.

          Hi Mark,

          Hi Mark,
The system does Not have an option to purchase round-trip tickets. Riders can pay directly at Metrobus fareboxes using their contactless-enabled bank cards, digital wallets, or exact cash fare of $2.25.
Yes, most pickup spots are just across the street from the dropoff location.

          Enjoy,

I am going to South Beach, Miami in May and I have two questions:

    1. I see a previous comment about trains and buses being free. Is this still the case or do I still have to purchase the $2.85 Express Ticket?

    2. Do I hop back on the train (Route 150) back to the Miami Airport FROM South Beach and will there be a kiosk in South Beach?

    Thank you,

    • lincolnroad says:

      Hi Duy,

      1. All Miami-Dade transit is free until June 1, 2021.

      2. The Airport Express makes several stops in South Beach. You didn’t mention your hotel, but I’m sure that there’s a stop nearby. Returning to the MIA Airport is easy. Just find the closest Airport Express bus stop & hop on.

Enjoy your stay in South Beach!

  • Juan says:

I have a 5 hour layover at Miami international airport. Would that be enough time to go to the beach for breakfast using route 150?

    • lincolnroad says:

      Hi Juan,

Typically, the trip takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour – depending on traffic. Add in another 10 minutes to get from the terminal to the bus pickup area. It’s possible, but I would not take the risk. I’d feel more comfortable taking the bus over and grabbing an Uber or Lyft back to the airport.

      Take care!

It’s an easy trip! Take the Airport Express Bus to South Beach and hop off at Washington Avenue & 9th Street. From there – Hotel Breakwater is a quick 5 minute walk away.
Remember to stop by Lincoln Road for great shopping, plenty of restaurants & sidewalk cafes, and great people-watching. Enjoy!

Reading your responses and I appreciate your feedback and clear directions to folks.

We have a 9 hour layover in Miami (1pm – 10:00pm). We are hoping to hangout at the *best* beach, shop a bit, and would love to eat at Little Havana, if possible. Do you have some suggestions on how we can get to each of these areas via the bus and make it back to catch our flight? Thank you so very much.

    • lincolnroad says:

      Hi Stella,

Thanks for reading our Lincoln Road blog – I appreciate your comment! Your request is definitely feasible, but using public transportation for the entire trip might prove challenging. Getting from the airport to South Beach and back is super easy. The Airport Express Bus takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour each way (depending on traffic).

Take the Airport Express bus to Washington Avenue & Lincoln Road. You’ll be five minutes away from beautiful beaches and in the heart of the SoBe. Lincoln Road has plenty of shops, restaurants, sidewalk cafes, and two food halls. Stroll the Beachwalk to Ocean Drive or hop on the free South Beach Trolley and cruise down to South Pointe Park. If you don’t make it to Little Havana, Puerto Sagua and Havana1957 are two popular Cuban Restaurants in South Beach. https://goo.gl/maps/Dfme3zNTkgMQqDjd9

From South Beach to Little Havana via bus will take at least 1 hour & 20 minutes and two buses – on a good day. Here’s a South Beach to Little Havana bus route to check out: (https://goo.gl/maps/qFTgZngLSJfbxHmQ6). For this leg of your day trip, I recommend taking an Uber or Lyft.

The distance from Little Havana to Miami International is about six miles. Again, I would opt for an Uber or Lyft (about $10-$12 for three people & quick) over the city bus ($2.25/person). I hope this info helps!

      Have fun!

Where is the closest stop for The Confidante (Hyatt)? Are babies permitted to ride and is a car seat required?

    • lincolnroad says:

      Hi John,

Hop off at the 40th Street & Indian Creek Drive stop. The hotel is a quick 2-minute walk away. Babies are permitted. I don’t think the bus is equipped for child seats. Come down to Lincoln Road for great shopping, restaurants, and sidewalk cafes.

      Enjoy your stay.

    Hello,

My family will be arriving in October. We will need to get to the Room Mate Waldorf Towers. What is the closest street/stop to get to there? How many bags are we allowed onboard the transit vehicle?

Also, is this a good option for getting from the hotel to the cruise terminal the following day?

    • lincolnroad says:

Hi there. Hop off at Washington Avenue & 9th Street in South Beach. Your hotel is about a 3-minute walk away. To my knowledge – there is not a bag limit posted for the bus. The Airport Express Bus does not service the cruise terminal. I would suggest an Uber, Lyft, or shuttle. Enjoy your visit!

Hi Thomas. Thanks for your nice comment. The closest stop to the convention center will be Collins Avenue & 18th Street (5-minute walk).
Buses run approximately every 30 minutes and the $2.25 fares were reinstated a few months ago.

        Enjoy South Beach,

        jeff @ http://www.LincolnRoad.com

  • Thomas Kenny says:

What is the nearest Airport Express stop to the convention center? Are fares still suspended? How often do the buses run to the airport? Thanks for all the great information on your blog!

  • Lynne says:

    Hi there,

We will be staying at the Blue Moon hotel. Where is the nearest stop please? Also, it looks as if regular buses take around 2hrs to get to the Dolphin Mall from South Beach. Time will be limited so wondering if quickest and cheapest quickest option would be to get airport express and then taxi from the airport?

    • lincolnroad says:

      Hi Lynne,

Hop off at the Washington Avenue & 9th Street stop – your hotel is just across the street. The quickest option to get to the Dolphin Mall would be to grab an Uber or Lyft from South Beach. Check the apps – probably going to cost about $35. From the airport, an Uber/Lyft runs about $15-$20. Since your time is limited, I’d grab an Uber or Lyft! Hope this helps.

    Hello,

We are traveling to Miami Beach for the Boat show Feb 16-19, 2022. Is this airport shuttle service still available? We will be staying at the Crystal Beach Suites. About how long does the shuttle take and is there a busy traffic time? Is the shuttle service available in the late afternoon? Our flight arrives at 4:30 on Feb 16.

    Thanks, Kathy Sader

    • lincolnroad says:

      Hi Kathy,

The Airport Express route is still offered, but unfortunately, it doesn’t travel all the way north to Crystal Beach Suites. You will need to switch to another bus or hop on the Collins Express free trolley service once you arrive at the beach.

Here’s my suggestion: take the Airport Express Bus to Indian Creek Drive & 37th Street in Miami Beach. From there, walk 2-minutes to Collins Avenue & 38th Street and hop on the free Collins Express Trolley. The trolley has a stop at 69th Street – just a 3-minute walk to your hotel.

Buses run every 30 minutes and provide express service from 6 a.m. to 11:40 p.m., seven days a week. I hope this info helps! Enjoy the Boat Show.

Is your shuttle wheelchair accessible? We are trying to get transportation to MIA on Sunday Feb 13th. Thank you!

    • lincolnroad says:

      Hi Arianna,

Yes, all Miami-Dade Transit buses are wheelchair-accessible. Passengers using wheelchairs have the right to board and exit the bus first before any passenger. Ask the bus operator if you need assistance in boarding, exiting, or securing your wheelchair or mobility aid. Hope this info helps. Have a safe trip!

  • lincolnroad says:

    Hi Greg,

Sorry, the Airport Express Bus does not serve the cruise terminal. I would suggest grabbing Uber/Lyft from the port – the fare should be about $20. Using public transportation would require you to switch buses several times and take over an hour to reach the airport. I hope this info helps.

        Hello,

We are a party of 7 traveling from The netherlands on de 25th of july in to Miami. Is it oké to travel with the express bus towards Collin ave the Kent Hotel? And can we buy tickets in advance?

        • lincolnroad says:

          Hi Rob,

The Airport Express Bus is an excellent option for your group. Hop off at Washington Avenue & 13th Street in South Beach. The Kent Hotel is just a short 5-minute stroll away.

The buses now have contactless payment options. Riders can pay for fares directly on all Metrobuses using their contactless-enabled bankcards or digital wallets instead of buying an EASY Card or EASY Ticket.

The buses accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express contactless-enabled bank cards. Accepted digital wallets include:
          Apple Pay
          Google Pay
          Samsung Pay
          Fitbit Pay

If you prefer to buy e-tickets in advance, you need to download and purchase them via the Miami Transit App. I recommend using contactless bank cards or digital wallets instead.

Have fun and enjoy your stay in South Beach. Lincoln Road is a short stroll from your hotel – stop by for eats, drinks, and shopping!

Hi, I am traveling on 24 June and I want to know how to reach 7310 Harding Av after using this bus to South beach. Thanks

    • lincolnroad says:

      Hi Silvina,

You will not need to go all the way down South Beach, and you’ll exit the bus in Mid-Beach.

Here’s how: take the Airport Express Bus to 40th Street & Indian Creek Drive. Hop off there and walk (less than 5-minutes) over to Collins Avenue & 43rd Street.

Take the free (northbound) Collins Express Trolley to Collins Avenue & 72nd Street. Hop off there; your destination is less than a 5-minute walk away.

The free Collins Express Trolley operates 7 days a week, from 8 a.m. – 11 p.m., at a service frequency of approximately 30 minutes. Here’s a Trolley Link for more info.

      Enjoy your trip!

        Silvina

        • lincolnroad says:

          Hi again,

No need to take the Airport Express! I suggest using the free Miami Beach trolley service to get around. The Collins Express Trolley will take you to Lincoln Road. From there, hop on the South Beach Trolley to cruise around South Beach. Lincoln Road is located in the heart of South Beach, so you could easily walk the area ( especially the Miami Beachwalk through Lummus Park & Ocean Drive and down to South Pointe Park.

Here’s a link to the Trolley page for more info; the trolley service is super easy, convenient, and free!

Thank you. I appreciate your answers.

    • lincolnroad says:

      Hi Devashish,

Yes – you can always hop on at the exact location or across the street on the Northbound route. The Airport Express Bus travels to the south tip of South Beach before reversing course back to the airport. Yes, the fare remains $2.25.

    Hi
I’m landing next Friday at the Miami airport and need to go to Biscayne Blvd and 69Th Street, at the Palm Bay yacht club…. what will be the most economic and best way to get there?

    • lincolnroad says:

      Hi Beatrice,

The Airport Express Bus does not service Biscayne Boulevard. Metro-Rail and bus routes are available but would require several transfers and some walking. I would suggest taking an Uber or Lyft. Prices vary depending on your time of arrival …but an UberX should cost about $25 and is a quick trip. Enjoy your stay.
