White Ginger and Senja

The following is a Q&A conducted by the Lincoln Road BID with Q&A from Emma Femminile, founder of White Ginger, and Harry Miller, founder of Senja.

Q&A

What factors influenced your decision to open your business on Lincoln Road?
We’ve only been open for a few weeks, but we already cherish every moment of
connecting with locals and welcoming visitors from around the globe. While White Ginger has been a favorite for nearly 15 years, Senja will celebrate its first birthday this year. Lincoln Road perfectly captures the essence of our brands, fusing the timeless elegance of White Ginger with the serene island spirit of Senja. The strong local community and the constant influx of new faces make it the ideal spot to introduce our brands to a diverse audience.

2. How did the visibility, foot traffic generated and accessibility, such as distance to Lincoln Road from other prominent neighborhoods, impact your choice of location?
Successful foot traffic is crucial, and we work daily to capitalize on it. Lincoln Road drew over 10 million visitors in 2023, and we aim to capture as much of that as possible through enticing window displays, engaging events and targeted social media campaigns.

We aim to create a unique in-store experience where customers feel transported into our friendly, luxurious environment, regardless of location. Lincoln Road is the heart of Miami Beach, ideally situated between Downtown, Brickell, Wynwood and the Design District, and close to Española Way. Senja appeals to everyone, from young gentlemen to well-dressed abuelos, while White Ginger attracts a diverse audience, evidenced by an 18-year-old and a 91-year-old buying the same dress in one day.

3. How do you envision your business’s future development and growth, and what are your predictions for the future of Miami Beach as a whole?
Miami Beach is now our flagship location, and we are excited about expanding to other sunny destinations like Santa Barbara, the Hamptons and Nantucket. We envision renting adjacent spaces at our future locations to maintain our special connection while allowing each brand to shine. Miami Beach and Lincoln Road are currently having a resurgence of independent and family-owned businesses that are proud to be a part of and contribute to Miami Beach’s vibrant, timeless spirit.
