Public Art Installations Include NYC’s Acclaimed “Wild Couch Party,” a 40-Foot-Long Bronze Sculpture Featuring 12 Endangered Animals, Alongside “Watch Out for Paparazzi Dog” and “Watch Out for Paparazzi Rabbit”
MIAMI BEACH, FL (July 15, 2025) – Lincoln Road, Miami Beach’s iconic open-air pedestrian promenade, is proud to announce the arrival of three striking bronze sculptures by internationally acclaimed artist duo Gillie and Marc. On view from July 9 through July 2026, the installations – “The Wild Couch Party,” “Watch Out for Paparazzi Dog” and “Watch Out for Paparazzi Rabbit” – mark the artists’ continued partnership with the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District (BID). The new works expand Gillie and Marc’s existing public art exhibit on Lincoln Road, which began with the successful December 2024 debut of “The Giraffe and Chimpanzee Were on a Wild Ride to a Safer Place with Rabbitwoman and Dogman” and “The White Rhino Bench of Friendship,” both still on display today.
Gillie and Marc, hailed by The New York Times as “the most successful and prolific creators of public art in New York’s history,” bring their distinctive animal-human hybrid characters to Miami Beach as part of their ongoing mission to advocate for wildlife conservation through accessible public art.
Fresh off of a successful exhibit in New York City’s Financial District, “The Wild Couch Party” makes its Lincoln Road debut on the 400 block. The monumental 40-foot-long sculpture, weighing over 13,000 pounds, centers on a bronze couch featuring the duo’s beloved Dogman and Rabbitwoman joined by twelve endangered animals, including hippos, Masai giraffes, African elephants, Bengal tigers, koalas, chimpanzees and more, all gathered in unity. Designed to be both immersive and thought-provoking, the piece invites the public to sit, reflect on the fragility of wildlife and consider the urgent need for conservation.
On the 700 block of Lincoln Road, “Watch Out for Paparazzi Dog” and “Watch Out for Paparazzi Rabbit” (approximately 4 and 5 feet tall, respectively) feature Gillie and Marc’s signature characters emerging from utility holes with cameras in hand. Finished in a gold patina, the works explore themes of visibility, fame and individuality, reminding viewers that anyone can have their moment in the spotlight.
“We believe art has the power to move people—to awaken empathy, to ignite passion and to inspire change,” said Gillie and Marc in a joint statement. “By bringing these sculptures to Lincoln Road, we’re putting endangered animals in plain sight—where they can no longer be ignored or forgotten.”
Known for transforming city streets into interactive storytelling spaces, Gillie and Marc’s work finds a natural home on Lincoln Road, where art, culture and creativity intersect. Each sculpture invites the public to pause, post and reflect – reinforcing Lincoln Road’s ongoing commitment to making art accessible for everyone.
“We are thrilled to expand the Gillie and Marc public art exhibit on Lincoln Road with the arrival of these new pieces,” said Anabel Llopis, a representative from the Lincoln Road BID. “These sculptures do exactly what great public art should do: They stop people in their tracks, get them talking and make them think – in this case, about wildlife protection. It’s wonderful to see families and visitors from around the world discover these meaningful pieces.”
By continuing to spotlight boundary-pushing installations by award-winning artists, Lincoln Road seamlessly blends shopping, dining and cultural experiences. As one of Miami Beach’s most visited pedestrian areas, it offers millions of visitors each year the opportunity to engage with art in an open-air setting.
