Lincoln Road Business Improvement District (LRBID) Names Timothy Schmand Executive Director

Miami Beach, Fla. October 10, 2017 – Lincoln Road, the social and civic spine of Miami Beach, announced Timothy Schmand has been named executive director of the destination’s Business Improvement District (BID). In this lead role, Schmand will work closely with business owners, landlords, the City of Miami Beach and other organizations to enhance the Lincoln Road experience through curated programming of cultural and community enrichment.

“Tim is a fixture in Miami with a stellar reputation for taking destinations within our diverse community to the next level,” said Steven Gombinski, president of the Lincoln Road BID board of directors. “Given his valued experience over a career spanning 25+ years, he will be an incredible asset to Lincoln Road as we continue growth on the promenade and embark on the execution of the upcoming Master Plan.”

Schmand joins the Lincoln Road (BID) after most recently serving as the Interim Executive Director of the Coconut Grove Business Improvement District, where he lent his expertise and knowledge to the transformation of the community. Prior, Schmand served as executive director of the Bayfront Park Management Trust for over 25 years, managing all aspects of Bayfront and Museum Parks in downtown Miami. Under his leadership the park achieved $7.5 million in net revenue between 2003 and 2016 and attracted 8.5 million attendees to enjoy concerts, special events and other programs.

“Lincoln Road is an iconic destination that has been part of the Miami Beach experience for locals and visitors alike for generations,” explains Schmand. “I look forward to working closely with the board as we lead the destination into the future.”

Schmand is a member of various South Florida organizations including History Miami, Fairchild Tropical Garden and the Pérez Art Museum Miami. He is currently the chair of the Miami Downtown Development Authority’s Homeless Task Force. Schmand is a graduate of State University College of New York at Buffalo and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Vermont College. He is a certified yoga instructor and resides in Miami.
