City of Miami Beach Launches Phase II of Lincoln Road Capital Improvement Project

Work on Meridian Avenue

On January 5, 2026, the City of Miami Beach will begin construction to improve Meridian Avenue from 17 Street to Lincoln Lane South, as part of the Lincoln Road Improvements Phase II. This effort is a continuation of a $36 million investment in the Lincoln Road corridor designed to improve safety, walkability, and the overall visitor experience. Lincoln Road Redevelopment Phase II is divided into two components: Drexel Avenue and Meridian Avenue Improvements. The Meridian Avenue work is in Phase II of three planned phases in the Lincoln Road District. It advances the City’s long-term vision to enhance walkability, cultural programming and public spaces.

Exciting changes are underway! The City of Miami Beach has officially launched Phase II of its Lincoln Road/Drexel Avenue Capital Improvement Project, continuing the transformation of this key corridor into a pedestiran-first destination. The enhancements will elevate the experience between Lincoln Road and Española Way with new landscaping, expanded café seating, upgraded paving and lighting, and a new amphitheater-style performance space inspired by Morris Lapidus’s iconic MiMo design.
