The following is a Q&A conducted by the Lincoln Road BID with Maria Comfort, Co-Founder of Ché by Chelsey, a contemporary boutique known for its curated selection of stylish, statement-making womenswear and accessories.

Q&A
1. What factors influenced your decision to open your business on Lincoln Road?
Lincoln Road is one of the most iconic shopping and cultural destinations in Miami Beach. As a brand that celebrates global fashion, artistry and individuality, we were drawn to its energy, pedestrian-friendly layout, and vibrant mix of locals and international visitors. It felt like the perfect home for a boutique that thrives on creativity and discovery.
2. How did you assess the demographics and target market surrounding the destination before selecting your business location? Please explain.
We conducted extensive research on foot-traffic patterns, tourism data and spending habits in the area. Lincoln Road offers a unique overlap of high-end tourists, style-savvy locals and international shoppers, which aligns perfectly with our curated collection of global designers and our in-house label. The diverse demographic and high visibility were key factors in our decision.
3. How did the accessibility, such as distance to Lincoln Road from other prominent neighborhoods, impact your choice of location?
Lincoln Road’s central location was a major advantage. It is easily accessible from Miami’s key neighborhoods – South of Fifth, Sunset Harbour, Midtown and even Brickell. This accessibility means our loyal clientele can still visit us with ease, while we also reach new customers from the surrounding hotel and tourism corridor.
4. What market, demographic, or economic trends did you consider when selecting Lincoln Road to open a business?
We looked closely at the rise in international tourism post-COVID, the return of major events like Art Basel and F1, and the shift toward experiential, boutique-style retail. Lincoln Road’s steady foot traffic and its evolution into more curated, elevated retail made it the right fit for this new chapter of our business.
5. In what ways does Lincoln Road’s energy and mix of locals and tourists complement or inspire your brand’s aesthetic and customer experience?
Our brand is rooted in femininity, elegance and effortless glamour. Lincoln Road’s global energy and artistic pulse directly inspire the vibe of our store. We design our space to feel like a stylish apartment-meets-gallery – personal, elevated and full of discovery – just like the road itself.
6. How do you envision the future growth and evolution of Ché by Chelsey?
We’re focused on building a lifestyle brand that merges fashion, art and community. Lincoln Road is the start of that vision. In the future, we hope to expand with more experiential concepts, collaborative pop-ups with international designers, and perhaps a second in-house collection. Growth for us means remaining boutique in feel but global in presence.
