Q&A
What factors influenced your decision to open your business on Lincoln Road?
After living in South Beach for 20 years, opening on Lincoln Road felt like the natural choice. Its vibrant atmosphere and cultural richness perfectly align with my vision for an upscale entertainment and dining venue. The area’s dynamic energy and diverse clientele make it the ideal location for a luxury rooftop restaurant. Plus, its accessibility and strong appeal to both residents and visitors further solidified my decision.
Did the proximity to competitors influence your decision-making process? Please explain.
The proximity to competitors definitely played a role in our decision-making process. While having competitors nearby can indicate a thriving market, we aimed to differentiate Oro Miami Beach by providing a truly unique experience. By carefully assessing the strengths and weaknesses of existing establishments, we identified opportunities to fill gaps in the market. Our 24-karat gold walls, enchanting entertainment featuring ballerinas dressed in gold, and ladies adorned with gold flowers greeting guests at the door all contribute to our distinctive atmosphere and goal of bringing a new kind of luxury to the district. Additionally, our exquisite, locally sourced menu further sets us apart. This strategic positioning not only complements the local dining scene but also attracts both high-end residents and visitors seeking something special.
How did the accessibility, such as distance to Lincoln Road from other prominent neighborhoods, impact your choice of location?
The accessibility of Lincoln Road from other prominent neighborhoods played a crucial role in selecting the location for Oro. Several factors were considered, including Lincoln Road’s proximity to affluent areas, such as South of Fifth, Sunset Harbour and the Venetian Islands, where residents frequently seek upscale dining and entertainment experiences. This ensured a steady flow of high-spending clientele.
Additionally, Miami Beach attracts millions of visitors annually, with Lincoln Road being a well-known destination. Its central location makes it easily reachable from major hotels, resorts and attractions, increasing foot traffic and exposure to Oro’s target market.
What role, if any, did the BID have in your opening?
The BID played a crucial role in our opening, providing invaluable support throughout the construction and launch process. Its guidance and assistance were instrumental in bringing Oro to life, making the entire experience much smoother. We truly consider the Lincoln Road BID a lifesaver and are incredibly grateful for its help in making our vision a reality.
How do you envision your business’ future development and growth?
At Oro Miami Beach, we envision our future development and growth as an exciting journey centered around creating unforgettable experiences for our guests. Our goal is to expand our offerings by introducing seasonal menus that highlight local ingredients and culinary trends, ensuring that we remain fresh and relevant.
We also plan to enhance our entertainment lineup, featuring exclusive events and performances that attract both local and international audiences. Additionally, we aim to create strong community partnerships to engage with our neighbors and contribute positively to the local culture.
Do you have any personal connections to Lincoln Road? If so, what are some of the aspects of the district that you particularly appreciate?
I grew up in South Beach and spent every weekend on Lincoln Road with my family, creating some of my most treasured memories. It has always been a vibrant and special place for me. Seeing Lincoln Road experiencing a revival, I knew I had to seize the opportunity to be part of its new chapter while honoring the nostalgia and energy that make it so unique.
