Habitat Hyett -400 Lincoln Road

Habitat Hyett, vintage retailer on Lincoln Road, recently celebrated their one year anniversary. We had the opportunity to catch up with  Ann Hyett, co-founder of Habitat Hyett, and asked her about her boutique on Lincoln Road.

Q&A

1. What factors influenced your decision to open your business on Lincoln Road?

We were drawn to the history associated with Lincoln Road and the millions of visitors, both locally and internationally, who shop here annually. As long-time residents of Miami Beach, we understood Lincoln Road’s significance to the community and believed that we could benefit from being situated on this iconic street. When deciding where to open our first brick-and-mortar store, we explored and studied other neighborhoods, ultimately determining that Lincoln Road was the optimal choice based on its alignment with our brand and target audience.

2. What specific advantages do you feel Lincoln Road offers for your business?

Lincoln Road’s strategic location near numerous prominent hotels that cater to visitors exploring Miami Beach, as well as popular tourist destinations such as the beach, ensures a high volume of foot traffic. This influx of potential customers is particularly instrumental for a small, first-time business. The support and collaboration of the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District (BID) played a pivotal role in realizing our entrepreneurial vision. The BID actively assisted us in securing the desired space, demonstrating a commitment to fostering local businesses and contributing to the vibrancy of the community.

3. How do you envision your business’ future development and growth, and what are your predictions for the future of Miami Beach as a whole?

We believe that Miami Beach will continue to grow and bring quality developments that will positively impact the district. We certainly hope to see an increase in small businesses thriving on Lincoln Road, including an expansion of Habitat Hyett that could meet the demands of our customers, who are always looking for more unique vintage discoveries!
